OFFENSE: D+
QB C- These are the issues you get with a 42 year old QB. Up and down through out at game. Rodgers missed open WR. Was inaccurate at times. he also held on to the ball to long. He also got hot and looked like the Rodgers of old. RB. A+ Jaylen Warren again was incredible. 17 carries for 93 yards. 3 catches for 33 yards. He was powerful. Elusive. Just didn't get enough touches. WR B Still not getting consistent separation. However, some of the route combinations don't emphasize their strengths. DK Broke out for 115 yards on 5 catches. Roman Wilson had a nice game. 3 catches for 74 yards. Washington had a TD. More importantly 3 redzone targets. Pittman has been hurt and a bust to this point. 2 presnap penalties and zero separation. Oline D Max Iheanachor struggled in this game. Both run blocking and pass blocking. Just wasn't a good day for him. Brock Hoffman played ok. He still struggles against athleticism but he was fine. Zack Frazier I thought had a good game, as usual. Troy Fautanu still isn't playing well enough in pass pro. Its alarming at this point. Mason McCormick was a beast in the run game. In pass pro, he was horrific. OFFENSE D+ 27 points. 361 total yards. 4-13 o n 3rd down. 5.6 yards per play. The strategy was more the problem to me. Why can't we run the football 25--30 times especially when your running well?
DEFENSE: F
Dline- D not enough pass rush. I get they went to the quick game, 2.44 seconds. but when you have the opportunities, you have to get home. Especially against that bad line with two backups. Herbig has been a no show. Highsmith again was a no show. TJ was abeast. 4 solo tackles. a sack. Forced fumble 2 TFL. LBs- F Patrick Queen is playing like he knows this is his last year in Pittsburgh and wants out. Horrific tackling. PAyton Wilson led the team in tackles 9, 7 solo, but what impact did he actually have.Not to mention they seemed to not trust him. Cole Holcolmb has no business being on the field. DBs- F I again blame the game plan of so much zone defense. deshawn Watson was 24/33 268. Tackling was horrendous in space. Coverage was to soft. Daylene Everett is not ready to play. ASJ celebrating complete passes. Rayshawn jenkins got rightfully benched. Brisker was again terrible tackling. Jaylen Ramsey had less tackles than Pittman and Roman Wilson. JPJ being gone was felt today. DEFENSE- F 27 points. 21 in the 2nd quarter. 372 total yards. Too many missed tackles. Bad game plan again
Special Teams: C-
Boz missed another kick. Has missed 3 in 4 games. Not good enough. Better in the kick coverage units. Still nothing in the return game. Johnston was really good again.
Coaching: F
The Offensive game plan was silly. McCarthy doesn't seem to be able to adjust his gameplan. The run was working. wouldn't stick with it. Patrick Graham has to stop playing so much zone. If the guys aren't good enough so be it. But the strength of the defense is your front. you have to allow them to get home. Zone coverage is being exploited.
